I've always loved Bruckner's motets -- perfect little gems, satisfying all the requirements of music for the Church, (as these requirements are acknowledged by trads and progs alike.... since the most pastoral solution is ipso facto universal rather than parochial,) but listening to his symphonies seemed to me unending expanses of time that I would never get back.
What is the matter with me?
Anywho, much gratitude to the person, (I'm sorry, can't recall,) who recommended the Barbirolli recording of the 8th.
Omiwerd gorgeous....
