Ooooooooooooooh, DEREK!

(Himself and I used to tease one of my nephews that way, as a "tween" he had a boy crush on Jeter...)
Anyway, 7 games to go in the storied park, and Derek Jeter has tied Gehrig's record for number of hits in Yankee Stadium.

Not making the playoffs is a change for the Yankees, but otherwise it was a normal day at the ballpark. Derek Jeter got three hits and tied a long-standing record, Alex Rodriguez blasted a home run, and, oh yeah, Carl Pavano left the game with an injury. So all in all, pretty much business as usual in the Yankees' 8-4 win over the Tampa Bay Rays at Yankee Stadium today.
Jeter was 3-for-4 with a double and a solo home run to tie Lou Gehrig's record for all-time hits at Yankee Stadium with 1,269.
