After the entrance antiphon I put my Magnificat away until the Communion antiphon, (we had priest and lay reader with terrific diction, no need to "follow along in the book,") and the opening collect, which I had not glanced at a head of time was wonderful, a really exciting turn of phrase and I made a mental note to read it over and ponder on it later.
Turns out, whatever it was Father was saying, 'twernt the words in the Missal...
Oh well.
