Specific intercessions

Today at the Prayer of the Faithful we prayed for people of Beijing displaced by the Olympics, livestock and wildlife at risk because of melting polar ice and the possibility of drilling, and good causes that are underfunded because of money given to "more glamorous" causes.

Well, there seems in those intentions some distinct content, Scelata.
Remember how I mentioned my local issues of rampant, ignorant clericalism messing with my karma?
I actually hit the "send" button on an email remonstration to "Those who presume to be obeyed." The result, thought to be somewhere between the poles of an open dialogue and a firing? No, a general intention:
"And for those who minister in song: that they may be filled with joy and peace in their duties, let us pray to the Lord..."
Yeah, that was rich. And subtle.

I remember a decade or so ago there seems to be a rash of goofy intention writing, which had, PTL, died down.
It seems to be back in vogue.

I recently visited a parish where, at every Mass, the faithful are allowed to pipe up with their own intentions from all over the church... now, granted, most of them were just fine and could have easily have been added to the list anyway... but am I wrong in thinking this in completely incorrect and not-allowed?
