(And no surprise that the estimable Linda Schafer is one of the movers and shakers on this.)
St. Boniface Parish, Lafayette, IN Hosts Father Samuel Weber, OSB First to Offer the TLM in the Diocese of Charlotte
On April 11 & 12, the Music Department at St. Boniface Parish will conduct a workshop on Gregorian Chant. The goal of the workshop will be to de-mystify Gregorian chant for those new to it, without neglecting those who already have a basic understanding of chant.
Fr. Samuel Weber, OSB, will be guest lecturer for the clinic.
Fr. Samuel is currently Associate Professor of Early Christianity and Spiritual Formation at Wake Forest University Divinity School. Father Weber was the first to offer the Traditional Latin Mass in the diocese at Davis chapel, Wake Forest University in the Diocese of Charlotte. He has been credited with being the first priest to celebrate a regularly scheduled TLM in the diocese since its quasi replacement with the Novus Ordo Missae in 1970.
All events are free and open to the public, but reservations are recommended. For further information, contact Linda Schafer at (765)742-5409 or lp.Schafer@verizon.net.
