(H/T to the New Liturgical Movement) In a brilliant move on the part of Archbishop Burke, Fr Samuel Weber has been named to head a new Institute of Sacred Worship for the archdiocese of St Louis.
There is not a more PASTORAL musician in the world, that coupled with his musical skill, his erudition and his profound and yet transparent spirituality make him the perfect choice for such a task.
Lucky St Louis!
As someone who lives where the diocesan liturgical PTB thinks the "paschal alleluia triplex" is not "uplifting" enough for a funeral liturgy, and opts for the Celtic instead, I openly beat my breast and confess mah fah-oolt, mah fah-oolt, mah mos' greeeee-vous fah-oolt (Himself, who knew the phrase before this cradle Catholic did, always says it with a drawl, blame Gone With the Wind,) yes, I am guilty of the sin of envy.
