Dare I suppose that this little tiff, had something in common with the (rancorous,) incident at our parish several years ago when a demi-cleric, (who I suspect sports a camauro at home,) told the janitorial staff to remove the wreaths from the church doors first week of January?
The Holy Father, having less of a temper, by all accounts, than our "Environment and Arts" person did not eviscerate the personnel analogous in the Vatican story, to our over-reaching Church Lady.... (who can doubt that someone figured, hey let's get this chore out of the way, and someone else, who... let's say, "outranked" the first someone, said, uh, no, that's not the way it works...? )

After a brief hiatus, the Nativity scene is back in St. Peter's Square. (CNS photo by Cindy Wooden)
