Didn't the French INVENT Irony?

Do not read this or look at the pictures if you are easily offended. Avert your eyes. They are MEANT to upset people.(And, um.... show comtempt for those peoples' religions.)

Copies of the latest issue of a periodical that publishes covers the likes of these:
sold out almost instantly in France, in a show of solidarity with those who believe in and engage in Free Speech.

In other news, dozens of  people have been arrested in France, in a crack-down on unpopular Free Speech.
For instance, a comic was taken into custody Wednesday morning for a Facebook post, "Tonight, as far as I’m concerned, I feel like Charlie Coulibaly."

"In these times, when the nation must display its unity, words or acts of hatred that are reprehensible, full of hatred  or contemptuous  and committed because of religious affiliation [emphasis supplied]must be fought and prosecuted with the utmost vigor, "
purred Christiane Taubira, France's Minister of Irony ... Justice.
