The source of this quote is irrelevant, and as applied to the quotee is old news, but doesn't this sound exactly like some currently chatty theologians who wish to have their sacramental indissolubility cake and blow it off eat it too?

“Marriage is forever, and your relationship will endure—whether positively or negatively—even if the marriage formally ends.” 

Or is the source irrelevant?
Once you abandon systematic, coherent truth, or any part there of, isn't the structure of your belief system bound to fail?
